Our Mission
At James Madison, we want our students, staff, and families to Strive For Excellence. For our Madison community to Strive For Excellence, we need everyone to do their P.A.R.T. by working towards these four Core Values:

Visit Our School
Please call our school office at (920) 459-3585 to set up a tour. For the safety of our students, visitors are required to enter through the main doors, sign in at the office, and obtain a visitor's pass. The visitor's pass should be displayed throughout your visit to clearly indicate that you are an authorized visitor.

8:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday-Friday
Playground supervision begins at 8:35 a.m.; please do not drop off students before this time.

More About James Madison
James Madison Elementary is a unique and diverse neighborhood school providing programming for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. In addition, numerous support programs are available for students from diverse backgrounds, including exceptional needs programming, to ensure that every student reaches their full potential. James Madison’s diversity teaches an appreciation and acceptance of people from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities.
Families at James Madison enjoy various extracurricular events, such as the Community Resource Fair in the fall. In addition, James Madison students look forward to PTO-sponsored after-school events, such as BINGO and Holiday Craft Night.
The staff at James Madison is dedicated to ensuring that each individual student meets their academic goals.
James Madison is committed to offering students a variety of experiences both inside and outside the classroom, which provides a well-rounded education. The Student Council, Math Olympiad, and educational field trips enrich the students’ education.
The James Madison swimming pool builds a sense of community. It is the only elementary school in the district that has a pool. Our special education students make use of the pool for various therapies, skill building, and overall physical health.
PBIS
What is PBIS?
PBIS stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. It is dedicated to teaching and encouraging safe, respectful, and responsible behaviors. We celebrate students for making positive choices that align with our school expectations. When a student needs assistance in meeting these expectations, we provide guidance to help them learn the appropriate behavior. If necessary, an Office Discipline Referral (ODR) may be issued, but our primary goal is to support each student's growth.
Achievement Gap Reduction
The Achievement Gap Reduction (AGR) program, established by the Wisconsin State Legislature in 2015, is an initiative to close achievement gaps and foster student success. Schools participating in AGR have the opportunity to implement one of three effective strategies:

Reducing Class Sizes: This approach allows for more individualized attention, ensuring that each student feels supported and engaged.

Providing Instructional Coaching for Teachers: By enhancing data-driven practices through coaching, teachers can deliver even more effective instruction and support for their students.

Offering One-to-One or Small-Group Tutoring: This targeted support helps students receive the personalized assistance they need to excel academically.
Title I
Title I is a federal program that provides money to school districts to help children become successful learners. The purpose of Title I is to provide extra educational services for children who need additional help to be successful in school.
