Academics

Elementary students receive a strong foundation in core academic subjects while also participating in a rotation of Art, Music, and Physical Education classes. Additionally, students have opportunities for enrichment to explore their interests and expand their skills.

Literacy & Language Arts

Benchmark Advance: A research-based English Language Arts program focusing on systematic phonics, vocabulary development, and comprehension strategies.

Adelante: Designed as a companion to Benchmark Advance, Adelante supports dual language learners by providing content-based instruction in both English and Spanish, aiming for bilingualism and biliteracy.

Lexia: An adaptive, technology-driven program offering personalized practice in phonics, fluency, and comprehension, particularly beneficial for early learners.

Mathematics

Bridges in Mathematics: An inquiry-based curriculum that emphasizes hands-on activities, visual models, and problem-solving strategies to develop a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.

Mathseeds: A foundational math program targeting early learners, focusing on number sense, counting, and basic arithmetic through interactive lessons.

IXL: An online platform providing comprehensive practice in math and language arts, offering personalized recommendations and tracking progress through diagnostic assessments. (IXL Learning)

Science

Mystery Science: An inquiry-driven science curriculum that encourages exploration of natural phenomena through questions, experiments, and discussions, aligning with Next Generation Science Standards.

Assessment & Progress Monitoring

Renaissance Star: A suite of assessment tools offering data on student growth in reading and math, including screening, progress monitoring, and reporting features to inform instruction.

Aimsweb+: A universal screening and progress monitoring system assessing student performance in literacy and math, supporting data-driven decision-making.

Specials

In addition to core academics, students participate in Specials, which include Art, Music, and Physical Education. Students receive a Specials class every day on a rotating A/B/C schedule. These classes provide creative, physical, and cultural learning experiences that support the whole child. Through Specials, students have opportunities to express themselves, build healthy habits, and discover new interests that enrich their school experience.

Response to Intervention

We provide Response to Intervention (RTI) support through a daily WIN (“What I Need”) block, lasting 20–30 minutes, five times per week, in addition to regular classroom reading instruction. Students receive targeted reading support using research-based resources, such as Orton-Gillingham and UFLI. Students with reading or math concerns may be eligible to receive this instruction in a small-group setting with one of our highly trained interventionists. In addition, students participate in Math RTI three times each week to strengthen core skills and strategies.
